Muslims all over the world welcome Eid Al-Fitr together with joy, this is because one of the meanings of Eid Al-Fitr is "Victory Day". What is meant by this day of victory is having won against lust, hunger, and thirst for 30 days in the holy month of Ramadan. 

Another meaning of Eid Al-Fitr is also the day a person returns to a state of purity or freedom from all sins, mistakes, ugliness, and vices so that they are in purity or "Fitrah".
